Pat Elsberry is an author, speaker, blogger, and Certified Grief Educator. Her blog, Hope During Loss, reaches over 18,000 followers daily, while her Facebook page by the same name reaches upwards of 28,000. Pat’s writing approaches difficult and important topics from a biblical worldview, such as suffering, seasons of waiting, and seeking peace. Her heartfelt words stem from her own experience facing the loss of her 38-year-old daughter Melanie in 2020. Pat acknowledges the reality of pain while reminding her readers of God’s enduring compassion. She also writes for Wisdom Hunters, a ministry founded by Boyd Bailey whose daily devotionals impact over 100,000 readers around the world. Pat and Boyd are co-authors of Comforted by God, a devotional on navigating grief with the perspective of the ultimate hope and healing found only in the Lord. Beyond her writing, Pat facilitates a monthly in-person support group for women who have experienced child loss, creating safe spaces for sorrow, healing, and hope.
