John Piper

John Piper is chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary and founder and teacher of desiringGod.org. With over 3.5 million followers across social platforms, Desiring God’s mission is to “help people everywhere embrace a profound truth that changes everything about life and eternity: you were created for something greater than yourself… You were made to know glory—God’s glory.” The ministry centers around John’s concept of “Christian Hedonism,” meaning that “God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in Him.” John is the author of more than 50 books, including the bestselling titles Desiring God: Meditations of a Christian Hedonist and Don’t Waste Your Life, of which over a million copies have been sold. His writing is strongly influenced by the ideas of Jonathan Edwards and C. S. Lewis. For 33 years, John served as senior pastor at Bethlehem Baptist Church in Minneapolis. Prior to this, he taught Biblical Studies at Bethel University for six years. More than four decades of his sermons and articles are available free of charge at Desiring God. John and his wife, Noël, have five adult children.
